Are you energetic, passionate and looking for a way to give back to NHLI?
If so, we encourage you to join us in developing ethical Latina leaders by taking a role on our Board of Directors.

Board service is an excellent way to leverage your creativity by taking initiative, creating vision and strategy, and overseeing exciting projects while further developing and demonstrating your personal and professional leadership!

Board terms are for a duration of 3 years with the option to serve a 2nd concurrent term. Ideal candidates have a minimum of 10+ years of career experience and a commitment to servant leadership and the Latina community.

Committee Announcement

NHLI is looking to leverage the strengths, skills and creativity of our alumnae to help the Board of Directors and Staff shape the future of NHLI and our leadership programs.
To this end, NHLI invites you to join one of our national committees:

Fundraising—work with the President and Board of Directors to develop strategy to increase funder base and to build, manage grow relationships with existing funders.

Program Development—work with Director of Development & Programs and Board of Directors to review and revise current programming to ensure alignment with NHLI's mission, vision and core values as well as develop content and ideas for new programming elements reflecting the changing landscape of leadership development and the growing impact of the Latina community.

Strategic Planning—work with the President and Board of Directors to develop a 3-5 year strategic plan for NHLI (to be developed in Q1 of 2014)

Thought Leadership—work with President and Board of Directors to develop thought leadership content for placement on NHLI website and external blogs, websites and media outlets. Additionally, this committee will work on plan for development of NHLI speakers bureau and development of content for Annual Reports and periodic Impact Study reports.


Committee service has no term limits and is a great starting point for someone looking to demonstrate or build leadership skills required for future Board service.

Ideal candidates are alumnae from any NHLI program and have a minimum of 5+ years of career experience, strong project management skills and a commitment to service.
