Message from the President
A new year has begun with new opportunities to continue to advance Latina leadership and to promote the invaluable work that our alumnae are doing in their respective sectors.
The National Hispana Leadership Institute's (NHLI) resolutions for 2010 are to extend our training to more Latinas, engage new friends in our work, and tell the stories of Latinas who are making a difference in their communities.
NHLI is proud to announce the launch of a new program: Advancing Latina Leaders in Nonprofits (ALL IN) with the support of the American Express Foundation, a new NHLI supporter. The ALL IN program will train young Latina leaders between 24-34 years of age to prepare them for executive and senior managerial positions within nonprofits.
Consider Mentoring a Young Latina in Your Community

In January, NHLI is joining organizations from across the country celebrating National Mentoring Month to bring attention to the critical role mentors play, to encourage more individuals to mentor, and to celebrate those who have guided us in our personal and professional careers. In this newsletter edition, NHLI explores the mentoring needs of young Latinas, shares mentoring success stories and ideas for how you can get involved.
