According to the 2005 Bank of America/Merrill
Lynch report, What Holds Women Back, women are
leading the economic recovery. They are more likely to
find employment in today's competitive job market,
given that they have more education than men, and
with more secure incomes, women drive consumer
spending. Latinas in particular are one of the fastest
growing groups of women in the U.S. labor force and
are increasing their education levels and enhancing
their skills. In the past 10 years, the number of Latinas
earning bachelor's degrees has tripled and the number
of Latinas earning masters degrees is 4 times higher.

Women, Latinas specifically, identify lack of access
to mentors, networking opportunities, employerbased
support systems, and access to training and
professional development opportunities as main
challenges in the workplace. Latinas, it is reported,
must stay abreast of current topics and trends to better
brand themselves and enhance their leadership and
management skills.

Start 2012 by building a flexible and dynamic
environment for employee success and supporting
promising women and Latinas in developing their
leadership ability!
